He Further said adding that his company SpaceX, and its satellite business, Starlink, use no AI. ,“So SpaceX uses basically no AI, Starlink does not use AI. I’m not against using it. We haven’t seen a use for it.”

He also talked about AI safety, “I think we want to have a maximum truth-seeking AI, that’s very important. The AI should not be taught to lie, it should not be taught to say things that are not true”

He additionally expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance of AI language models in addressing inquiries related to space, the Fermi paradox, rocket engine design, and electrochemistry.

While Musk harbors doubts about the role of AI in space exploration, his venture xAI is dedicated to leveraging artificial intelligence to expedite human scientific breakthroughs. Musk has previously forecasted that AI will outstrip human intelligence by the conclusion of 2026.

At X, AI has found practical applications in enhancing the user experience and content curation, while at Tesla, its development is contingent on Musk’s influence and strategic decision-making, which is closely tied to his ownership stake in the company.
